About Senator Kim Hendren

An engineering graduate of the University of Arkansas, a former public school teacher, and a successful businessman, State Senator Kim Hendren employs over 50 people at the family’s manufacturing plants. He also owns a farming and ranching operation and assists in the operation of a 50,000-watt FM radio station, a local real estate office, and five auto dealerships.

Senator Hendren has served on the Gravette City Council and the Gravette Public Schools Board of Education. A Republican, he is currently in his 12th year as a member of the Arkansas state legislature, and was unanimously elected as the Republican Leader of the Senate this year.

Hendren and his wife of 51 years, the former Marylea Hutchinson, are active in their local church, where he directs music, teaches and leads a nursing home ministry. Hendren has been a Kiwanian and Gideon for over 40 years.
